What are the basic details of the event (New Years Eve at the Trots 2025)?

Every year, Parkes Harness Racing Club races on 31 December. We conduct our race meeting at Parkes Showground.

Date: 31 December 2025 (Wednesday)
Entry fee: $10 per person (Kids U12 are FREE).
Gate Opens: 5pm
Gate Entrance: at Mitchell street.

What do we expect during the New Year's Eve at the Trots 2025 race meeting?

Accepted Answer

New Year's Eve at the TROTS is always big event of Parkes Harness Racing Club.

What to expect during the night?

- Full on harness racing event. This would be about 8 or 9 races. Every race is usually 30 minute apart.

- Entrance fee is $10. Children U12 is FREE.

- Children U12 gets free ice cream.

- Kiddie rides are FREE. Available rides for the night may include: Cha Cha, Dodgem Cards, Saucer Ride, and Bouncy.

- Food vendors are available for the night: On-site canteen, Spuddy Buddy, BBQ, Darcy Gage Ice Cream, Coffee Van.

- Fireworks display, approximately 1 hour after the last race (to make sure that all horses have left the Parkes Showground)

Entrance fee is $10.
Children U12 FREE.

What time does the fireworks display be?

Accepted Answer

As of this writing, there is no definite time set yet. 
The schedule of the horse racing comes out approximately 5 dyas before the New Years Eve meeting race meeting.

Fireworks display commences approximately 1 hour after the last race of the evening. If the last race of the evening is 9pm, the Fireworks display would be around 10pm -- after all the horses have left the Parkes Showground.

Is EFTPOS available during the night?

Accepted Answer

Yes. 
There are EFTPOS in the entrance gate and in the bar (for drinks).

It might be possible that food vendors have EFTPOS as well. 
But, it might be a good idea to bring little bit of cash as a backup.

Is there a way to withdraw cash during the night?

Accepted Answer

Yes, there is a way.

You can withdraw money from the EFTPOS machines that bar of Parkes Harness Racing Club.

You can get cash out at the bar with a $100 max (the maximum limit might change, we'll notify on the day itself)

Are pets allowed during the horse / harness racing meeting?

Accepted Answer

As this is a horse racing event, we have to ensure the safety of the horses and their drivers during the  racing.

Companion dogs are allowed. Thought, companion dogs have to be ensured that they are on leash at all times.

Where can I purchase a race book?

Race bokos can be purchased at the bar and are $5 each.

Accepted Answer

Parkes Harness Racing Club could not guarantee availability of specific food such as gluten-free, vegetarian, nut-free, etc.

If you have specific food requirement and still want to attend the event New Year's Eve at the TROTS, please do bring your own food (just to be on the safe side).

As of this writing, these are the food vendor that we have:

- On-site canteen that serves chips, hot and cold sandwiches, hot food.

- BBQ from a local group

- Spuddy Buddy

- Darcy Gage Ice Cream

- Coffee van

- Food stall from Ride provider
